Ex Tafel Racing Ferrari 430 GTs For
Sale #71 SOLD
|
The
two Ferrari 430 GT2 cars successfully raced by Tafel Racing in the
2008 American Le Mans Series are offered for sale.
The lead #71 car was driven by
Ferrari factory driver Dirk Mueller and young gun Dominik Farnbacher
- The car placed 2nd in the hotly contested GT2 championship with
several overall wins.
The second car contested much of the
rest of the season with gentleman drivers but Allan Simonsen was
aboard for Sebring.
Both
cars were fully prepped for a close season test programme post the
final race of the season at Laguna Seca. The test did not occur but
the hours on both engines are such that they will require rebuilds.
Both cars come in full 2008 spec and
are located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

1 Porsche 996 GT3 RSR (2004)
|
This
car is updated to all 2006 standards, Traction control, lightweight
wiring loom, 3.8l engine by Porsche Motorsport.
The car was run in the European Le
Mans Series in '04, '05 and '06 plus the 24 Hours of Le Mans in '04
and '05
Team Farnbacher Racing maintained the
car in 2006, and ran it in the Le Mans Series in that year with
drivers Dominik Farnbacher and Pierre Ehret, where the car placed
consistently in the top three Porsches in qualifying.

The current engine has 24 hours logged whilst the gearbox had a
total rebuilt to as new standard and has 0 hours.
Two sets of lightweight rims will be
included, as well as several gears and the one set of the 3 part BBS
rims for rain tires. The car has also been freshly painted.

1 Porsche 996 GT3-RS (2002)
|
This
car was raced only at selected races in the GTP series as well as in
the Porsche Sports Cup series in 2005. It attained many pole
positions and overall wins. The car was not driven in 2006
The car has a rebuilt and tuned 3.6l
engine by Schmirler, with all updates to 2004 standards with
approximately 12 hours running on the engine currently installed.
The car received a new chassis in 2003.
The car has a built-in ABS system,
that can be turned on or off, and is also fitted with a large (endurance)
fuel tank. The car is currently painted in all over white and is
currently located in Germany with Farnbacher Racing, which
maintained the car throughout its racing life so far.

two Tafel Racing Porsches, and has the #73 car for sale.
This car has a new, updated
engine with 8 hrs. and 42min use on the clock, and was fully prepped
after the recent Laguna Seca ALMS race. There are many special,
unique features on this car, which comes with some spares and
lightweight rims.
